EARL KING & ROOMFUL OF BLUES: (1986) Glazed

Earl King's New Orleans ''office'' is Tastee Donuts Shop Number 58, facing the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Prytania Street. Late at night, as folks drop in for coffee and the joint's bite sized hamburgers, Earl observes and does his business. For over 30 years, Earl King has been a powerful presence on the New Orleans music scene -- recording, playing guitar and composing for such artists as Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Lee Dorsey, The Meters, Dr. John, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Guitar Watson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robert Palmer.
During the late '70s, Earl was introduced to Roomful of Blues bby Black Top chief executive Hammond Scott, who had long dreamed of uniting the wily guitarist wuth the nation's premier touring blues ensemble. ''Glazed'' is the result of this magnificent collaboration.
